A healthy lifestyle is one which helps to keep and improve people’s health and well-being. Here at the YMCA of the East Bay, we work every day to help members of our community reach their fitness goals, try new exercises or activities, build relationships with other Y members through social events and work towards a happier and healthier self. Cooking foods (above 165 F) destroys most harmful bacteria and other pathogens; if you choose to eat uncooked foods like fruits or vegetables, they should be thoroughly washed with running treated (safe to drink) tap water right before eating.
Be aware of changes in your appetite. Loss of appetite or overeating may be symptoms of depression. Discuss any changes with your doctor. Regular physical health checks by your doctor are an important part of looking after yourself. Step 3: A healthy mind is part of a healthy body. It is one thing to know all the things that make up a healthy diet, it is another thing to put it all together and create a healthy eating plan.
